Abstract

Let 𝑀 π‘˜ be the π‘˜-th Mulatu number. Let π‘Ÿ, 𝑠 be non-zero integers with π‘Ÿ β‰₯ 1 and 𝑠 ∈ {βˆ’1, 1}, let {π‘ˆ 𝑛 } 𝑛β‰₯0 be the generalized Lucas sequence and {𝑉 𝑛 } 𝑛β‰₯0 its companion given respectively by π‘ˆ 𝑛+2 = π‘Ÿπ‘ˆ 𝑛+1 + π‘ π‘ˆ 𝑛 and 𝑉 𝑛+2 = π‘Ÿπ‘‰ 𝑛+1 + 𝑠𝑉 𝑛 , with π‘ˆ 0 = 0, π‘ˆ 1 = 1, 𝑉 0 = 2, 𝑉 1 = π‘Ÿ. In this paper, we give effective bounds for the solutions of the following Diophantine equations 𝑀 π‘˜ = π‘ˆ 𝓁 π‘ˆ π‘š π‘ˆ 𝑛 and 𝑀 π‘˜ = 𝑉 𝓁 𝑉 π‘š 𝑉 𝑛 , where 𝓁, π‘š, 𝑛 and π‘˜ are nonnegative integers and 𝓁 ≀ π‘š ≀ 𝑛. Then, we explicitly solve the above Diophantine equations for the Fibonacci, Pell, Balancing sequences and their companions respectively.
