Macroematuria: pensare anche alle cause più rare
A 17-year-old boy presented with gross hematuria and pharyngodynia, without other significant symptoms or trauma. Urine tests showed eumorphic and monomorphic erythrocytes, with protein/creatinine ratio alterations. Doppler ultrasound revealed narrowing of the left renal vein, suggestive of Nutcracker syndrome, confirmed by MRI. The patient, in good general condition, was discharged with a follow-up plan, with no need for further interventions.
