Adverse Events in Patients Transitioning From the Emergency Department to the Inpatient Setting
AEs were common for patients transitioning from the ED to the inpatient setting. Further research is needed to understand the underlying causes of AEs that occur when patients transition from the ED to the inpatient setting. Understanding the contribution of factors such as length of stay in the ED will significantly help efforts to develop targeted interventions to improve this crucial transition of care.
