Confirmatory Factor Analysis of Emotional Intelligence scale -Women Entrepreneurs in India

The Emotional Intelligence scale -Women Entrepreneurs is based on ECI V2.0 Construct. It was specifically developed for women entrepreneurs of India. However, there is inadequate evidence for its use among Women Entrepreneurs. This study provides further construct validation of EI-WE among women entrepreneurs by confirmatory Factor analysis. A study was carried out on 393 women entrepreneurs of Delhi- NCR as preliminary validation of the scale was done on women entrepreneurs of Delhi-NCR region. The Results of the analysis support the four-factor model of EI-WE Component: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social-Awareness and Relationship Management. From 28 items of measurement scale 16 items were removed to get model fit.  Scale has been validated by convergent and discriminant validity and proves it as a reliable measurement scale for women entrepreneurs. But around 57% of items have been removed from the scale, therefore it should be used with caution until further cross validation studies will be conducted on women entrepreneurs of other states in India.
