Pediatricians in the Digital Age: Integrating Technology to Improve Patient Outcomes

This research uses both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis to investigate the extent of integration of digital technologies in paediatric practice. The methodology includes literature review, questionnaires, interviews, and case studies that would help to establish the role of digital technologies in paediatric healthcare. An extensive search of the literature is performed to find articles, systematic reviews, and clinical guidelines on the application of digital technologies in paediatrics. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews are used to collect quantitative and qualitative data from the healthcare professionals and families regarding the use of these technologies, the degree, advantages, and difficulties. Examples of the use of digital technologies in paediatric practices are illustrated through case studies on EHRs, telemedicine, and wearable devices. The quantitative data is analysed using statistical methods while the qualitative data is analysed by the method of thematic analysis, making it easier to address the research questions. The issue of ethics is well addressed, with participants’ consent and anonymity and confidentiality of data upheld throughout the study. The purpose of this research is to advance the knowledge of the use and effectiveness of digital technologies in caring for children, so as to help improve the administration of children’s health services.
