An In-Depth Review of High-Performance DC-DC Converters for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructures

In order to provide high power, inexpensive, and dependable charging options for the EV battery, power electronic converter study and creation is required due to the widespread acceptance and anticipated expansion of electric vehicles (EVs). However, in order to drastically minimize the volume and weight of an EV, off-board chargers must be used for dc fast and ultra-quick charging. In this paper we concentrate on technical information, current progress, and problems while discussing the topology and control strategies of dc-dc converters. Furthermore, the majority of current multiport EV chargers that combine grid integration, EV, PV, and energy storage are showcased. Furthermore, in order to provide guidance for future studies in EV charging remedies, a comparison of the structures and control strategies of dc-dc converters, and multiport conversion devices has been conducted. This analysis covers design, power and voltage levels, effectiveness, bidirectionality, control factors, benefits and drawbacks.
