Efficient Power Extraction in Off-Grid Photovoltaic Systems with Landsman Converter: An Adaptive Fuzzy Control Approach

An innovative approach for enhancing power extraction efficiency in off-grid photovoltaic (PV) systems through the use of Landsman Converter is proposed. This method tackles the difficult task of optimizing power extraction efficiency in off-grid situations when energy management and storage are essential. An Adaptive Fuzzy Control (AFC) method is proposed to improve its performance even more. AFC uses the adaptability and flexibility of fuzzy logic-based control systems to dynamically modify the Landsman Converter's functioning in response to external factors, load demands, and system parameters. Through constant observation of relevant variables including temperature, load demand, and solar irradiation, the AFC algorithm cleverly modifies the converter's operational parameters in real-time to optimize power extraction efficiency and guarantee peak system performance. Overall, by presenting a novel control strategy that improves power extraction efficiency and encourages the sustainable deployment of solar energy technologies in remote and off-grid areas, this study advances the state-of-the-art in off-grid PV system optimization. To evaluate the efficacy and practicability of the proposed strategy, simulation research and experimental validation are carried out. The comparison chart shows the proposed converter's efficiency of 92.3% and an AFC settling time of 0.23s.
