Norm-Peak Multilinear Forms on the Plane with the Rotated Supremum Norm
Let ๐ โฅ 2. A continuous ๐-linear form ๐ on a Banach space ๐ธ is called norm-peak if there is a unique (๐ฅ 1 , โฆ , ๐ฅ ๐ ) โ ๐ธ ๐ such that โ๐ฅ 1 โ = โฆ = โ๐ฅ ๐ โ = 1 and for the multilinear operator norm it holds โ๐ โ = |๐ (๐ฅ 1 , โฆ , ๐ฅ ๐ )|. Let 0 โค ๐ โค = โ 2 with the rotated supremum norm โ(๐ฅ, ๐ฆ)โ (โ,๐) = max {|๐ฅ cos ๐ + ๐ฆ sin ๐|, |๐ฅ sin ๐ โ ๐ฆ cos ๐|}. In this note, we characterize all norm-peak multilinear forms on . As a corollary we characterize all norm-peak multilinear forms on = โ 2 with the ๐ ๐ -norm for ๐ = 1, โ.
