Predicting Survival Time of Women with Cervical Cancer in Osun State

This study aimed to investigate the survival outcomes and associated prognostic factors for women with cervical cancer in Osun State, Nigeria.Using survival analysis techniques, the study analyzed data from 24 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer at Osun State University Teaching Hospital.Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Cox proportional hazards models were employed to estimate survival probabilities and assess the impact of various factors on survival times. Results indicated that overall survival rates for patients with cervical cancer were relatively high, with 79.2% surviving beyond the censored time point.Age was found to be a non-significant predictor of survival, suggesting that age alone does not substantially influence prognosis. While mean survival times varied across age groups, these differences were not statistically significant. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the survival experiences of women with cervical cancer in Osun State.Further research is needed to explore the influence of other factors and to develop more effective strategies for improving survival outcomes in this population.
