Ultrahigh-Repetition-Rate Pulsed Fiber Laser Based on Four-Wave Mixing in a Microcavity

A mode-locked fiber laser is experimentally demonstrated via an ultrahigh-quality-factor silica microcavity. Due to the vernier effect, the repetition rate of 553 GHz is achieved, which is twice the free spectral range of the microcavity.

Abstract

A mode-locked fiber laser is experimentally demonstrated via an ultrahigh-quality-factor silica microcavity. Due to the vernier effect, the repetition rate of 553 GHz is achieved, which is twice the free spectral range of the microcavity.
