Experimental Analysis of Golay Codes Applied to Phase-Sensitive Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry

The performance of Golay codes in fibre-optic distributed acoustic sensors is experimentally analysed. Results demonstrate that pulse coding enhances phase sensitivity only when using low pump powers, resulting in negligible benefits in optimised systems. © 2024 The Author(s)
