Second Harmonic Generation From Centrosymmetric 2D Materials After van der Waals Stacking

We report that van der Waals stacking of centrosymmetric two-dimensional materials, e.g. bilayer <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{MoS}_{2}$</tex> (2LM) and monolayer graphene (1LG), could support remarkable second harmonic generation, which could be attributed to the interfacial charge transfer.

Abstract

We report that van der Waals stacking of centrosymmetric two-dimensional materials, e.g. bilayer <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{MoS}_{2}$</tex> (2LM) and monolayer graphene (1LG), could support remarkable second harmonic generation, which could be attributed to the interfacial charge transfer.
