Ultrahigh Mode-Selectivity Photonic Lantern Based on Asymmetric Multicore Fiber Tapering

We demonstrate a 3-mode photonic lantern design through asymmetric multicore fiber (MCF) tapering. By adjusting mode spatial distribution through optimizing MCF parameters, higher than 70 dB mode selectivity of LP01 and LP11 modes is achieved. © 2024 The Author(s)

Abstract

We demonstrate a 3-mode photonic lantern design through asymmetric multicore fiber (MCF) tapering. By adjusting mode spatial distribution through optimizing MCF parameters, higher than 70 dB mode selectivity of LP01 and LP11 modes is achieved. © 2024 The Author(s)
