Topology Optimization of Nonlinear Optical Switch Using Adjoint Variable Method

We propose a function-expansion based topology optimization of photonic devices utilizing optical Kerr effect. To efficiently optimize design variables, we reformulate the adjoint variable method for nonlinear photonic devices and design nonlinear optical switch.
