Availability of Twisted Partially Coherent Beams in Underwater Free-Space Optical Links

For the first time, we introduce partially coherent beams with twisted phases into optical wireless communications and propose an asymmetry-based mode combining scheme. Numerical results report marked performance improvements of such links over their counterparts.
