Ranging Enhancement of Optical Phased Array-based Lidar Enabled by Optical Passive Amplification

We propose to enhance ranging capability of optical phased array Lidar via optical passive amplification. Noise-overwhelmed echo signals from 31 m can be clearly detected by the proposed system with up to 6-mm ranging resolution.
