Absorbance Enhancement of a Multilayer Mode-Guiding Ge Infrared Photodetector Structure with a Subwavelength Surface Grating

Proposing a Ge subwavelength grating on multilayer structures, we explore guided-mode resonance with diverse waveguide modes. The TE<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">1</inf> mode achieves ∼90% absorbance with a broad linewidth. Higher-order modes show 70% absorbance and a narrow linewidth. © 2024 The Author(s)

Abstract

Proposing a Ge subwavelength grating on multilayer structures, we explore guided-mode resonance with diverse waveguide modes. The TE<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">1</inf> mode achieves ∼90% absorbance with a broad linewidth. Higher-order modes show 70% absorbance and a narrow linewidth. © 2024 The Author(s)
