Multi-Projection Imaging of a Woodlouse with an Improved Multibeam X-Ray Optical System

The multibeam X-ray imaging system, a highspeed X-ray tomographic technique that does not require rotation of the sample, X-ray source, or detector, has significant potential for investigating fast non-repeatable dynamic processes in fluid fluctuations, material fractures, and movement of biological samples. In this study, we report an improved X-ray optical system and demonstrate multiprojection imaging of a woodlouse with 8 milli-second temporal resolution, showcasing the application to biological samples.

Abstract

The multibeam X-ray imaging system, a highspeed X-ray tomographic technique that does not require rotation of the sample, X-ray source, or detector, has significant potential for investigating fast non-repeatable dynamic processes in fluid fluctuations, material fractures, and movement of biological samples. In this study, we report an improved X-ray optical system and demonstrate multiprojection imaging of a woodlouse with 8 milli-second temporal resolution, showcasing the application to biological samples.
