Detection of Charged Particles in a Vacuum Using a Photonic Crystal Waveguide

We investigated the responses of a photonic crystal waveguide to an electron beam and a Xenon plasma in a vacuum. The intensity of light transmitted through the waveguide is reduced by the charged particles.
