A Highly-Sensitive Biosensor Based on a Long-Period Polymer Waveguide Grating Structure

A polymer waveguide grating biosensor has been theoretically analyzed to obtain a dispersion turning-point and utilized for biosensing applications. The proposed biosensor shows high bulk refractive-index sensitivity ∼5000 nm/RIU and surface sensitivity ∼3 nm/nm.
