Distributed SBS-induced birefringence detection in SMF

The distributed SBS-induced birefringence in SMF is measured by the polarization diversity detected BOTDA sensor for the first time. The interference of the two polarized Brillouin gain profile at Brillouin peak reveals distributed SBS induced birefringence as predicted by Kramers-Kronig relation.

Abstract

The distributed SBS-induced birefringence in SMF is measured by the polarization diversity detected BOTDA sensor for the first time. The interference of the two polarized Brillouin gain profile at Brillouin peak reveals distributed SBS induced birefringence as predicted by Kramers-Kronig relation.
