Collaborative Optimization and Drive Control Strategy of Modular Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Electric Trucks

This study proposes a collaborative optimization (CO) and drive control strategy to optimize the triple cascaded dual-stator-single-rotor axial flux permanent magnet synchronous motor (AFPMSM) for higher system efficiency and better control performance. More specifically, a double-layer CO strategy is used to address the problem of the insufficient range, consisting of the inter-group CO based on the efficiency MAP and the intra-group CO based on the loss model control (LMC) and ant colony optimization (ACO). In addition, the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) based LMC method is investigated to improve the control performance. The experimental results indicate that the double-layer collaborative optimization strategy can significantly broaden the high-efficiency operation range of the system and increase the cruising range. The LMC method based on improved ADRC leads to suitable dynamic response, increased stability, high anti-interference ability and enhanced parameter robustness.
