Abstract

In this manuscript, we analyze the exclusive photoproduction of <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:msub><a:mi>η</a:mi><a:mi>c</a:mi></a:msub><a:mi>γ</a:mi></a:math> pairs in the collinear factorization framework and evaluate its cross section in leading order in the strong coupling <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:msub><c:mi>α</c:mi><c:mi>s</c:mi></c:msub></c:math>. We found that this channel is mostly sensitive to the behavior of the unpolarized gluon generalized parton distributions <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><e:msub><e:mi>H</e:mi><e:mi>g</e:mi></e:msub></e:math> in the Efremov-Radyushkin-Brodsky-Lepage kinematics. We estimated numerically the cross section and the expected counting rates in the kinematics of middle-energy photoproduction experiments, which can be realized at the future Electron-Ion Collider or in the ultraperipheral collisions at LHC.
