Equilibrium Isothermal Analysis of Pb (II) Metal ion Adsorption onto Red Soil
Water is an essential part of living, and we know that water pollution is a huge problem that is increasing day by day. This study investigates the various adsorption isotherms of Lead (II) ions onto red mineral soil. For a healthy environment, we should take rapid action on this problem.Heavy metal ions in water are also a major concern nowadays due to extensive globalization and industrialization. While lead is a heavy metal ion required by our body, there is a specific amount needed; today, the levels of heavy metal ions in water are excessive and harmful to our health.Red mineral soil has been used as an adsorbent for the treatment of lead-contaminated synthetic wastewater. The adsorption isotherm study was based on parameters such as pH, initial metal ion concentration, dosage amount, contact time, and temperature. The results of the batch equilibrium experiments and the application of various adsorption isotherm models reveal that the Freundlich isotherm model is more appropriate for explaining the isotherm data than the Langmuir and Temkin models.
