ANÁLISE DE UM PROTÓTIPO DE UMA FECHADURA COM SCANNER DE IMPRESSÃO DIGITAL UTILIZANDO PLACA DE ARDUINO UNO

Introduction: The advancement of biometric technology has allowed the development of more efficient and accessible security systems, such as locks with fingerprint scanners. Using biometric recognition, the system guarantees access only to authorized users, replacing traditional methods such as keys and passwords. Objective: to analyze a prototype of an electronic lock with a fingerprint scanner, using the Arduino Uno board as a control platform. Methodology: the present study is a case study regarding the development of a system that included the integration of a biometric fingerprint sensor and a relay module to activate the lock. Results: the prototype managed to perform its functions satisfactorily, with low implementation costs and relative simplicity in development. The failure rate when reading fingerprints was minimal, and the response time between capturing the fingerprint and activating the lock was considered acceptable for use in domestic environments or small establishments. However, some limitations were observed, such as the limited storage capacity of the sensor and the Arduino Uno itself, in addition to the lack of encryption to protect biometric data. Conclusion: the developed prototype demonstrates the feasibility of using a fingerprint scanner and an Arduino Uno board for access control, being a practical and affordable solution. The system offers a solid foundation for future improvements, such as the implementation of greater storage capacity and protection of biometric data.
