Design and Implementation of PLL Controlled Bidirectional V2G and G2V Topology
In response to the challenges posed by climate change, stemming from the escalating levels of pollution and its detrimental impact on human health, the future trajectory of electricity generation must utilize clean vehicle technologies and incorporating renewable energy. This initiative devise and implement power converter capable of facilitating bi-directional power flow in both Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V) technologies. These configurations are designed to support both the existing grid and vehicle traction, accommodating additional auxiliary loads. Efficiently managing bidirectional charge flow of batteries enhances its suitability for integration with renewable energy sources, creating a more sustainable solution where the battery system contributes as an integral part of the energy source. By adopting such an approach, notable improvements can be achieved in the efficiency, reliability, stability, and generation dispatch of the supply grid. This becomes particularly significant in the context of a smart grid, where careful consideration and effective management of critical issues, such as potential disruptions caused by a growing count of Electric Vehicles (EVs) attached to the energy grid, are essential. The proposed project aims to offer a comprehensive technical evaluation, encompassing Phase Locked Loop (PLL), as well as modeling and control strategies. These considerations will be tailored to address challenges related to harmonics and dynamic response.
