“A Study to Assess the Effect of Health Teaching on Knowledge Regarding Spondylosis Among Workers in Selected Industries”.

Objective – The purpose of the study was to identify the effect of health teaching on knowledge regarding spondylosis among industrial workers. Research Design and Methods – A quasi experimental two group pre-test and post-test research design was used for the study. The study was conducted on 60 workers (30 in experimental and 30 in control group) at industry that is simplified solution Wakad, PCMC, Pune, Maharashtra. The sample included industrial workers who work in front of a computer for more than 8 hours, who were selected by Simple random sampling technique by using lottery method. Structured knowledge questionnaire consisted of 16 multiple choice questions was used to assess the knowledge of workers regarding spondylosis Result - In the experimental group, during the pre-test, out of 30 study subjects, 16.67 samples had average knowledge and 83.33% had a good knowledge score, whereas in the post-test 46.67% samples had good knowledge and 53.33% had an excellent knowledge score. This indicates that health teaching enhanced the knowledge of workers regarding spondylosis Conclusion - The knowledge of workers was improved after health teaching
