ATUALIZAÇÕES NO MANEJO DA ASMA PEDIÁTRICA

Pediatric asthma is a highly prevalent chronic condition and one of the leading causes ofhospitalizations and morbidity among children. Effective asthma management requires acombination of pharmacological interventions and preventive strategies aimed at reducingexacerbations and improving quality of life. This study reviews the most recent updates inpediatric asthma treatment, with a focus on new therapeutic agents and innovativeapproaches. The integrative review included nine selected articles from a total of 1,507,published between 2021 and 2024, after applying relevance filters. The results indicate thatthe use of inhaled corticosteroids as rescue therapies remains an essential cornerstone inmanagement, while immunotherapies and environmental interventions, such as allergencontrol in schools, are gaining prominence. Furthermore, studies highlight the importance ofdietary control and early prevention of allergic comorbidities, such as rhinitis and atopicdermatitis. The combination of these pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategiesshows promise in pediatric asthma management, contributing to better treatment adherenceand improved clinical outcomes.
