Performance evaluation of Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) for variable load and wind flow directions

To solve the world's energy problems, renewable energy sources are essential, and wind energy is becoming more and more of a viable option for producing electricity sustainably. In order to assess a vertical axis wind turbine's performance under various operating situations, we ran a number of tests in this study. We examined the impacts of wind angle, wind speed, and variable load on turbine RPM and power output through methodical research. The turbine's effectiveness in capturing wind energy was demonstrated by our findings, which showed a direct and proportional relationship between wind speed and turbine rotational speed. Furthermore, we saw that while the turbine would stop when the resistance to the load reached zero, the speed of the turbine increased, highlighting the crucial function that load regulation plays in turbine operation. Furthermore, changes in wind angle provided information about how well the turbine responded to shifting wind directions. Interestingly, unique cut-in and cut-out speeds were found, defining the functional operating range of the turbine. These findings add to our knowledge of the dynamics of vertical axis wind turbines and offer insightful information for maximizing turbine performance in renewable energy applications. Our analysis emphasizes how important it is to continue conducting research and development in order to advance wind energy technologies and move toward a sustainable energy future.
