A Study on Korean Cultural Education Plans Using Regional Cultural Resources: Focusing on the Culture of Gangwon Region

The purpose of this study is to propose Korean cultural education plans using regional cultural resources suitable for Korean language learners residing in the Gangwon region. In this study, as the first step, a teaching model for Korean cultural education using regional culture resources was proposed. Assuming that cultural education using regional cultural resources targets foreigners residing in the Gangwon region, the target learners will be very diverse. In addition, the institutions providing teaching and the contexts of teaching will be inevitably diverse as well. A modular teaching model flexibly applicable to such diverse contexts was designed. In addition, a plan enabling modules to be variously combined to freely construct teaching in a way conforming to each unit topic or teaching purpose was proposed. As the next step, contents of cultural education that can be provided using the regional culture of the Gangwon region were selected and proposed. As the final step, a teaching plan enabling the application of a modular teaching model to the topics selected within contents of education were proposed. This study is significant in that it proposed effective teaching models and contents of education enabling the provision of regional cultural education to foreign learners residing in the Gangwon region.(Sangji University)
