Study on the Correlation between Perception of Korea, Korean Language, and Korean Culture and Korean Classes Satisfaction: Focusing on Koryoin Korean Language Learners Living in Korea
This study is about the correlation between perception of Korea, Korean language, and Korean culture and Korean classes satisfaction. To this end, a total of 30 Korean language learners who had completed or had experience taking Korean language classes in Korea were surveyed to determine Korean classes satisfaction and perceptions of Korea, the Korean language, and Korean culture. And after the survey analysis, an interview was conducted. This study verified whether there was a correlation between Korean classes satisfaction and the following areas: Korean pride, psychological belonging, language identity, and cultural identity. As a result, Korean pride and psychological belonging did not show a correlation with Korean classes satisfaction, but language identity and cultural identity showed a correlation with Korean classes satisfaction. In particular, it showed a stronger correlation with language identity than with cultural identity, but this is significant because such research results have never been reported.(Ewha Womans University)
