The Impact of Experiential Elements of Festivals on Satisfaction and Repeat Visits to Festivals - Focusing on the Sokcho City Displaced Persons Cultural Festival -
This study focuses on the Sokcho City Displaced Persons Cultural Festival to investigate the effects of experiential elements of the festival on satisfaction and revisit intention. Through a field survey, 258 valid responses were collected and analysed. The results and implications of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, the experiential elements of the festival (educational, entertainment, and deviant experiences) had a significant positive effect on satisfaction. Second, the experiential elements of the festival (educational, recreational, and deviant experiences) had a significant positive effect on revisit intention. Third, the satisfaction level had a significant positive effect on the intention to revisit. As a result, displaced people's cultural festivals should be able to relate to the meaning of the festival through historical facts, traditions, and culture, and should plan content with dynamic elements that make them enjoyable, passionate, and curious. This will ensure that visitors are satisfied, return to the festival, and have positive recommendation intentions. In addition, it would be meaningful to analyse the economic impact of the ‘2024 Displaced Persons Cultural Festival’ by focusing on the expenditure of local residents and visitors in Sokcho City.
