Effect of non genetic factors and genetic group on reproduction traits of Gir crossbreds maintained at organized farm

The relevant data were collected from the history and pedigree sheets maintained at Research Cum Development Project on Cattle, M.P.K.V, Rahuri.(MS) for the period of 30 years (1990 to 2020) on lifetime traits of Phule Triveni and halfbreds. The data were classified into different seasons and periods and the data spred over 30 year duration were classified into total 8 period of calving of 3 year each. In order to overcome non rectiliniar of the data due to unequal subclass frequencies, least square techniques (Harvey 1990) [4] was used to examine by using different effect of non genetic factors. The results acheived in the present study of The overall least square means for AFC in FG, PT and R group were 985.04±19.44, 1047.494±18.5, and 1039.88.494±45.31 days, respectively. The overall least-squares mean for AFC as affected by genetic group was 1011.530±20.443 days. The analysis of variance and least squares means for calving interval in FG, PT and R genetic group were 420.55±13.72 days, 448.83±9.73 days and 410.48±9.85 days, respectively. The period of birth had significant influence on AFC in FG and PT genetic group whereas the period of birth had non-significant influence on AFC in R genetic group of Gir crossbreds , while the season of birth had non -significant influence on AFC in FG and PT genetic group, while the season of birth had significant influence on AFC in R genetic group. The genetic group had significant influence on Age at first calving. The overall least squares means for calving interval for FG, PT and R genetic group were 420.55±13.72 days, 448.83±9.73 days and 410.48±9.85 days, respectively. The period of calving was found to be significant on calving interval in FG, PT and R genetic group. The effect of season of calving on calving interval was non-significant in FG and PT genetic group. Whereas, the season of calving had significant influence on calving interval in R genetic group.
