Current State of Cyber Security Threats in India
The information security industry is facing a surge of new and emerging cybersecurity threats, including malware, phishing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cryptocurrencies. The lack of cybersecurity personnel in businesses has raised concerns about public confidence in values like democracy, capitalism, and personal privacy.Major and growing threats to data security today include malware like ransomware, social engineering attacks like phishing, cloud misconfigurations exposing sensitive data, supply chain vulnerabilities in software and hardware, malicious or negligent insiders with access to private information, and weak security in rapidly developing new technologies.A multi-layered strategy that includes user education, access controls, encryption, monitoring, and maintaining patched and updated systems is needed to defend against these many threats.Organizations must proactively identify and manage security risks as attackers grow more skilled in order to safeguard their data and systems from breaches that could cause monetary losses, harm to their reputation, and legal ramifications.
