MUSTANGS: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA SOBRE A HISTÓRIA, OS DESAFIOS E A CONSERVAÇÃO DOS CAVALOS SELVAGENS

This literature review will cover a general perspective on wild Mustangs, including their history, image, domestication, and political and cultural significance. The information in this work is drawn from articles and books by various authors who aim to provide the most comprehensive knowledge possible about these animals. It also addresses the issue of conservation as something of utmost importance, not only for the animals but also for humans, who have the role of protecting and caring for these beings since the 1971 law aimed at their protection and conservation. The objective of this work is to bring more information about the wild horses of the United States to Brazil, as Brazil also has wild horses, known as "cavalos lavradeiros," which are potentially at risk of extinction and likely face similar challenges to those of the North American mustangs. I believe this work can add not only to the literature but also to all those interested in obtaining more information about wild horses in general.
