Efficacy Analysis Of Outpatient Intervention Combined With Home Training In Improving Adolescent Scoliosis

PURPOSE: To explore the outpatient and home training mode of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis by observing the effect of outpatient clinic combined with home rehabilitation training on the imaging parameters of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. METHODS: A total of 48 female adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients were included, with an average age of 12.7 ± 1.9 years, an average height of 160.7 ± 9.7 cm, an average weight of 45.3 ± 8.7 kg, and an average Cobb angle of 20.0 ± 7.7°. 24 patients were randomized into the intervention group and 24 patients were randomized into the control group. The particular training movements in intervention group are as follows: a) Learning the spiral breathing method, b) Schroth Spinal training, c) core strength training, d) daily posture training, e) spinal flexibility training Each training movement is 8-10 times, 4-6 groups, each group rests for 1-2 minutes, and progresses and retreats appropriately according to the completion situation. The rehabilitation program for the control group is as follows: Patients in the control group and their parents were given routine health education and instructions on home precautions. To prevent the degree of scoliosis in the control group from deteriorating too rapidly, each patient was assigned a therapist to follow up and was asked to return to the hospital regularly each month for a postural monitoring assessment. Imaging indicators such as Cobb angle, clavicle angle (CA), Pelvic Obliquity (PO), Trunk Shift (TS), Sacral Slope (SS), Pelvic Tilt (PT), pelvic incidence (PI), Sagittal Vertical Axis (SVA) were used to evaluate the improvement of patients before and after treatment. RESULTS: After 6 months of rehabilitation training, Compared with before the intervention, the Cobb angle and CA of the intervention group decreased significantly after training (p < 0.05), and the difference between the Cobb angle and the control group was significant (p < 0.05). SS and SVA in the intervention group were significantly decreased (p < 0.05), and the difference was significant compared with the control group (p < 0.05) CONCLUSION: Outpatient and home training for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients can effectively improve the imaging symmetry of important joints such as shoulder, waist and hip in scoliosis patients. 2021 Major Sports Scientific Research Project of Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau with grant number ST212104
