Association Between Rs1544410 Of Vdr Gene And Resistance Training Effect On Muscle Indexes In Young Female Chinese
PURPOSE: Vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) is an important candidate gene related to skeletal muscle. This study was to explore associations between the rs1544410 polymorphism of VDR and the quality and function of human skeletal muscle by the resistance training. METHODS: Resistance training (10 times *5 groups * 70% 1RM, twice weekly, 12 weeks) were performed by female 83 subjects (18-32 yrs). Body composition, Push-up(1RM), Deep-squat(1RM) and isokinetic peak force was tested, venous blood of the subjects was collected before and after intervention. DNA gene typing was performed by time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The χ2 -test was utilized to calculate the genotype frequency to compliance with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (H-W) . The changes of difference indexes analyzed by paired sample t-test, and the difference genotypes analyzed by independent sample t-test. RESULTS: (1)After 12 weeks of resistance training, skeletal muscle mass(3.21 ± 0.35 kg), Push-up (7.88 ± 0.86 kg), Deep-squat (21.21 ± 2.33 kg) and isokinetic peak force(1025.49 ± 112.56 N·m) was higher than those before intervention (13.16 ± 1.66 kg, 3.03 ± 0.33 kg, 20.33 ± 2.23 kg and 888.71 ± 97.55 N·m, respectively) significantly in subjects; (2)The genotype frequency of the subjects met the H-W expectations (χ2 = 0.49, df = 1, P = 0.483). The change of muscle mass of CC genotype (0.92 ± 1.29 kg) was significantly more than CT genotype (−0.18 ± 0.54 kg), so C allele carriers increased significantly. But there were no significantly differences between rs1544410 polymorphism and muscle functions after resistance training. CONCLUTION: The polymorphism of rs1544410 is related to the effect of 12 weeks of 70 % 1RM resistance training on improving muscle quality in female Chinese, could be used as one of the reference genetic molecular markers for the formulation of individualized precise resistance exercise prescription.
