The Global Research Hotspots And Trends In Healthy Diet For College Students
The main factor affecting college students' health is diet; college students' obesity, anorexia, extreme thinness and other problems are closely related to daily diet. Helping college students develop good eating habits and promote healthy eating is of great significance to schools and society. PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to explore the research hotspots in the field of college students' healthy diet through CiteSpace (6.2.R4) software, to provide scholars with a quick understanding of the research in this field, thereby improving the quality of life and study of college students. METHODS: On 2023-11-01, the WOS (Web Of Science) core database was used as the source of data for literature on healthy diets for college students published over the period 2000-01-01 to 2023-11-01. The search was conducted using the TS (Topic) form with the search format TS = (Healthy diets for college students) or TS = (Healthy diets for university students). A total of 748 articles were retrieved, and 558 were finally included after screening. Afterwards, CiteSpace (6.2.R4) software was used to visualize and analyze the number of publications, country, region, institution, author, and keywords. RESULTS: The amount of literature on healthy eating among college students from 2000 to 2023 shows three stages: a steady phase from 2000 to 2005; a slow-growth phase from 2006 to 2017; and a fast-growth phase after 2017. The United States has the highest number of published papers. Four of the organizations ranked in the number of publications are from the United States, and four are from Spain. Three of the top ten authors are from the United States. Four of the ten most cited articles were from BMC. CONCLUSION: The hot topics and frontiers of research on healthy eating among college students in the past 20 years have focused on obesity, eating habits, body mass index, risk, and Mediterranean diet. Future research trends in this area are likely to focus on diet quality and anxiety.
