The Anti-exercise Fatigue Effects Of Sangcan Protein Complex Powder
PURPOSE: Sangcan protein complex powder is a nutritional supplement. This study aims to investigate the anti-exercise fatigue effects of Sangcan protein complex powder and its underlying mechanisms. METHODS: Male C57BL/6 mice were divided into four groups (each n = 10): control group (C), low-dose group (L; 50 mg/kg·d), medium-dose group (M; 100 mg/kg·d), and high-dose group (H; 200 mg/kg·d). After 30 days of gavage, exhaustive swimming time and levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN), blood lactate (BLA), muscle lactate (MLA), liver glycogen (LG), muscle glycogen (MG), and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in skeletal muscle, activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and level of malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured. RESULTS: Compared to group C, the exhaustive swimming time in L, M, H groups increased significantly by 21.9%, 30.1%, 33.3%; BUN decreased by 8.8%, 12.5%, 14.5%; BLA decreased by 17.5%, 24.6%, 26.3%; MLA decreased by 11.5%, 19.3%, 22.6%; LG increased by 15.3%, 24.8%, 29.9%; MG increased by 14.9%, 22.3%, 29.5%. TAC increased by 12.2%, 18.4%, 23.8%; GSH-Px activity increased by 14.1%, 19.0%, 22.3%; SOD activity increased by 12.3%, 18.0%, 21.5%; CAT activity increased by 16.0%, 21.6%, 28.9%; MDA decreased by 10.6%, 17.2%, 20.5%. CONCLUSION: Sangcan protein complex powder exerts anti-exercise fatigue effects by reducing the accumulation of metabolic waste, increasing the reserves of glycogen, and reducing oxidative stress levels in skeletal muscles.
