Non-invasiv behandling af det slidte tandsæt med adhæsiv teknik
English summary Non-invasive treatment of worn teeth with adhesive technique Nor Tannlegeforen Tid. 2024; 134: 688-95. Today, adhesive techniques have made it possible in many cases to treat pathologically worn teeth in need of increasement of the vertical dimension of occlusion without use of invasive and costly indirect restorations. The article reviews different types of tooth wear, discusses when there is indication for restorative treatment and how a strategy for treatment is made. A clinical example of treatment of pathological anterior tooth wear using direct resin composite material is shown, where minor erosion damage to other teeth is treated with preventive measures and monitoring. Before treatment no bite splint was used for adaptation to the bite lift, but treatment was performed immediately ad modum Bjørn Dahl with resin composite material as a fixed splint. The aesthetics were obtained by using layering technique with composites in enamel and dentin colors. The patient experienced only minor discomfort after bite lift during the first weeks after treatment in the form of slight symptoms from teeth, muscles and joints as well as reduced chewing function. Posterior occlusion returned gradually within the first 3 months. The treatment was followed over 10 years, during which the resin treatment was slightly maintained.
