Synergetic red emitting Sm3+, Eu3+, Pr3+ triple doped K2Ba2(PO3)5 luminescent glasses: An approach towards highly intense red emitting phosphor for LED and display devices applications

• Sm 3+ , Eu 3+ , Pr 3+ triple doped energy transfer was first time investigated in K 2 Ba 2 (PO 3 ) 5 host lattice. • Triple doped glasses shows bright orange red color ranging from 560 nm to 650 nm. • This highly instance red emitting glasses has color purity of 99 %. • PL emission study shows that the glasses were may be potential candidate for WLEDs, smart windows and plant growth application. Phosphites are being recognized as the new emerging candidates for luminescence in the modern era. In the proposed research article, Sm 3+ to Pr 3+ to Eu 3+ doped K 2 Ba 2 (PO 3 ) 5 (KBP) glasses synthesized utilizing melt quenching technique. Through the use of XRD confirmed the amorphous nature of glass sample. SEM is employed to analyze the morphology and elemental composition of the prepared sample. The sample shows orange-red emission in the phosphor on energy transfer with the Sm 3+ to Pr 3+ to Eu 3+ . This highly instance red emitting phosphor has color purity of more than 99 %. These all results confirm that the prepared glasses are potential candidate for WLEDs, display applications, smart window applications and red emitting glasses for plant cultivation applications.
