A Study of Scalable Mesh Algorithms for Large-scale Aquaculture using LoRa
COVID-19 significantly impacted the fishing industries, affecting fish supply, demand, distribution, labour and production. The aquaculture industry needs to monitor water quality manually, which is time-consuming and costly. This paper explores mesh algorithms such as DSDV (Destination Sequenced Distance Vector) and AODV (Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing) on IoT for remote monitoring of aquaculture farms. Comparisons of routing algorithms analysis were made regarding reliability and power consumption. The AODV mesh algorithm on LoRa has demonstrated better network efficiencies and lower power capabilities for long-range data gathering across large areas during daily operations.
