Control of Floating Offshore Wind Energy Systems: An Introduction to the Special Issue
As the global demand for renewable energy sources intensifies amid the urgent fight against climate change <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="ref1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">[1]</xref>, offshore wind energy has emerged as a promising and crucial component of the sustainable energy portfolio. Fixed-bottom offshore wind farms have already demonstrated their potential; however, they are limited to relatively shallow waters, typically no deeper than 60 m.
