Influence of the glycine/nitrites ratio on the anisotropy field of nickel ferrite nanoparticles

Nanosized particles of nickel ferrite were manufactured by the combustion method using different glycine/nitrites ratios. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) showed, respectively, that the crystallite size, the particle size and the anisotropy field of the particles increased significantly as the glycine/nitrite rate increased. Magnetization and FMR data were used to determine the anisotropy constant and the cation distribution of the particles as functions of the glycine/nitrate ratio. The results could be useful to customize nickel ferrite nanoparticles for practical applications such as drug delivery, cancer therapy and supercapacitors.
