A novel multifunctional industrial product design scheme using modular design
Modular design is an advanced concept in product design, facilitates the achievement of diversification, personalization, and flexibility in products through the meticulous decomposition, judicious combination, and optimization of various modules. This paper delves into the methodological framework of modular design within the context of product design, with a pronounced emphasis on matrix-based approaches to product research. By meticulously comparing the functional modules across diverse products, we are able to unearth potential innovation points and areas for improvement, thereby offering fresh perspectives and methodologies for product design. Furthermore, to validate the efficacy of modular design in the realm of multi-functional industrial product design, we conducted a comparative analysis of the product performance between modular and non-modular designs. The pertinent findings firmly establish the positive impact of modular design in enhancing the overall competitiveness of products.
