Curriculum Innovation: Increasing Exposure to Stroke Neurology With Multi-Modal Virtual Education in the Stroke, Thrombectomy, and Revascularization Course
In efforts to expand recognition, prevention, and improvement in outcomes of stroke, medical student and physician education is critical. The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) mandates stroke education in the neurology curriculum, yet not all institutions require neurology clerkships and exposure to stroke is not guaranteed. We developed an online elective course called Stroke, Thrombectomy, and Revascularization (STaR) to provide open-access, high-yield stroke education for medical trainees.
