On Translation Pitfalls Based on Lefevere’s Theory of Translation Rewriting—Taking CATTI Level 1 Chinese-to-English Translation Texts as Examples
Based on Lefevere’s theory of translation rewriting, the latest CATTI Level 1 Chinese-to-English texts are taken as examples to gradually analyze the pitfalls that arise in translation process. A series of new thoughts and interpretations have been launched on the English translation of Chinese vocabulary and phrases, logic and sentence structure, and colloquial expressions. It is pointed out that translators should link theory with practice, get rid of the constraints of word collocation and structure of the original Chinese text, and find the most suitable solutions according to specific situations, so as to improve the quality of the target text continuously.
