Coronary ostial obstruction after redo sternotomy and aortic root replacement: Case report
The incidence of coronary ostial obstruction after aortic root replacement (ARR) has been estimated to be as high as 5%.12 Patients commonly present months after surgery with stenosis at the ostia. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), Cabrol grafting, Piehler and Carrel techniques, or reanastomosis of coronaries have been published as effective therapies.3,4 However, there is a paucity of literature on best practices in acute presentations. This case describes an acute presentation of coronary obstruction in a redo ARR.
