Efficacy of Therapeutic Photography for Resolving Symptom Coherence in Prolonged Grief
Prolonged grief disorder (PGD) is a complex and debilitating condition that arises from the inability to adapt to the loss of a significant individual. Symptom coherence, meaning-making, and emotional processing are key symptom domains for individuals experiencing prolonged grief. The integration of photographic interventions within grief counseling practices offers a unique and powerful tool for emotional expression, emotional processing, and overall grief management. This literature review aims to synthesize current research on the efficacy of this innovative approach, primarily focusing on how photographic interventions impact symptom coherency, psychological healing mechanisms, and psychological healing.
