Longitudinal Attitude Control of eVTOL Aircraft Using Incremental Sliding Mode Control Driven by Sliding Mode Disturbance Observer
This study investigates the attitude control of eVTOL aircraft through robust and nonlinear control. First, Incremental Sliding Mode Control driven by Sliding Mode Disturbance Observer (INDI-S/S) is designed for an eVTOL aircraft. The performance of the INDI-S/S controller is then evaluated under nominal conditions and compared to that of the conventional Incremental Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion (INDI) controller in the presence of model uncertainties and sudden disturbances. The proposed INDI-S/S system demonstrates superior performance in terms of disturbance rejection and command tracking.
